The Teaching Philosophy
Cheryl embodies a teaching philosophy profoundly shaped by her lifelong spiritual education from her Godmother, illuminating her destined path as a teacher. The essence of education, derived from the Latin word "educare", means to draw out. Cheryl believes that teaching is fundamentally about nurturing the highest potential within each student through self-discovery and positive affirmation, all grounded in well-being.
The symbol
The symbol of The Singing Goddess is a butterfly, featuring four fully blossomed flowers on the right wing and a three-fold wing on the left, representing evolution and transformation in both physical and spiritual aspects. This transformative journey is guided by the phases of the moon, reflecting the feminine and nurturing qualities inherent in education.
the seed and soil
Cheryl often uses the seed and soil metaphor to illustrate her approach, rooted in her upbringing with her Godmother and parents. Every student is a precious seed, carrying a unique pattern waiting to flourish. As the teacher, Cheryl acts as the soil, providing bespoke, individualised care tailored to each student's needs, allowing them to thrive. She affectionately refers to her students as Singing Heroes or Singing Goddesses, emphasising their true essence and limitless potential.
Finding Your Voice
Further inspired by her Godmother, who is a gold-record music producer, hit songwriter and performer, Cheryl created a transformative programme that harmoniously merges traditional vocal techniques with spiritual teachings. This programme, aptly named “Finding Your Voice” was originally founded by her Godmother. It encompasses vocal techniques, spiritual practices, and profound life teachings, all carefully woven together to guide students on a transformative journey of self-discovery and empowerment - both musically and spiritually.
Cheryl's unique programme offers an experience that transcends conventional vocal training. Through “Finding Your Voice”, she aspires to honour her Godmother's legacy and inspire individuals to unleash their authentic voices and boundless possibilities. As they venture on this revolutionary path, Cheryl guides them in connecting with their inner wisdom and achieving creative fulfilment in life.
The classroom
We provide a private and cosy environment to enhance your learning experience. Our main classroom features a white grand piano and essential equipment designed to support your vocal training. The intimate setting, filled with ample daylight during the day, fosters focus and comfort, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in each lesson. When demo recordings are needed, recording facilities will be available to capture your progress.
For younger students, parents and guardians are invited to relax in our lounge area while their children finish their lessons. A private washroom is also accessible for use.
Our location is conveniently situated near the MTR, bus stops and tram station, making it easily accessible for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you on your vocal journey!
